Eurycnema Versirubra - Timor

Perhaps the most impressive females of all the giant stick insects, with beautiful red inside the wings, stunning body stripes and great size and bulk. Turn on audio and watch our Eurycnema Versirubra egg care video. The males are smaller, they can fly a bit, comically fight over the females and have a special quivering motion you're going to love. The stick insect that enthusiasts have been longing for are now available captive bred in the UK but don't miss this opportunity, we will swap for another giant species next year.

  • Heating Setup: We use these Inkbird thermostats and heat mats such as these attached to the outside of the glass enclosure. We insulate the outside of the cages with this foam roll and even put it over the heating mats but do that at your own risk - it's not advised! We also use these foam strips to modify cages and seal larger gaps around the doors of the cages but find the strips don't last indefinitely.
